About Me
I grew up writing songs and I worked as a DJ in my younger years. I then worked in a factory until I figured out what I wanted to do for a career. I spent most of my tiime in the health and fitness industry and I still do some work in the industry. I moved on to management and I have helped manage a few multi-million pound companies. I have also helped a few charities and helped with organising a few charity events. I have an interest in website development and I have created a few websites. I am the type of person who spends a lot of time on a project, trying to perfect it, until I am happy with the final result.
My Work
I have always had an interest in photography and video editing since a young age. I started editing videos when I was around 12 years old and I have progressed over the years. I remember the days when I would sit for hours trying to perfect my editing skills with only two video recorders. Years later, I wanted to make life easier for myself so I looked into video editing software. When I was younger, not that long ago, I searched and searched for a good affordable way to edit my videos and there were not many options. I purchased a computer which came with a video editor, but I was not happy with the final results. Time passed quickly and technology improved over the years. I tried many different video editing packages until I felt comfortable with using one of them. There is so much to learn with video editing, I feel like after all of these years I am still learning today.
I never really took filming seriously until I was asked to record some interviews with some local people. This was not my usual kind of work as I would spend most of my time filming car shows, scenic locations that I would visit on holidays, and trying to perfect my skills filming firework events. The company I was working with grew stronger and eventually I was filming celebrities. I had many frustrating moments trying to get the final cut right as I would not be happy with either the video quality or the background sound because we would film the shows as if they were live with limited equipment. I remember one show taking up to two months to complete, the render took a week. It was a three hour show filmed in HD. When I finally got some lighting and a good quality camera most of my worries were solved as I could now use a proper microphone and listen to the sound through headphones during recording. I know, most people would have a sound man, a camera man, etc... but I was working alone with the presenter and I had to be multi-talented. I have recently been filming various events, filming it as it happens, so there is no time for any errors. All of my knowledge has been through trial and error and learning from others, either during filming or online.
Over the years, I have helped film and edit a variety of subjects ranging from interviews, personal videos, events, debates, adverts, TV productions, festivals, parties, model shoots and other things and although it has been a rollercoaster sometimes, I can look back now and see what I have achieved over the years and how I have improved.
Although video editing is my main passion, I do enjoy photography and I am always looking for ways to improve on both.
I am happy to help with interesting projects and video productions.
