Do you edit other people's videos?

Unfortunately, there is a scam where someone can claim copyright over somebody else's work. Due to this, I require written confirmation from the copyright holder before editing other people's videos. I am happy to work with people by filming their projects and compiling the films for them. By doing this, I feel like I am helping to protect the original authors work and avoid unnecessary legal battles.
